Is this a nursing or residential home?
Gower Gardens is a residential home for older people.

Is there a brochure available?
There is a brochure available on request and when an assessment is completed.
What are the costings/fees for living at the home?
Fees will be made available to individuals during the assessment process. There are additional charges for services such as hair dressing, chiropodist and nail technicians, etc.
Is the fee payable in advance or in arrears?
All private funders will have to pay the fees a month in advance.
What day time activities are available for resident’s?
There is an activity planner which shows the activities planned for the month. We aim to have different activities daily, based on customer’s interests and preferences.
Do residents go out on trips? If so where do they go?
Residents choose to go and come as they please. There will be specific trips which will be facilitated by staff and these will be arranged on resident’s request.
Is there an upper and/or lower age limit for residents?
All residents living at Gower Gardens will be aged 65 years and over.
What times do you prefer residents to have visitors?
There are no specific visiting times.
Could a family member join residents for a meal?
We welcome family and friends to share time with their family member. The menu and price list for meals are available at reception. You can book a meal with the reception.
Could a close family member have a key to the resident’s room?
This would have to be in agreement with the resident dependent on their capacity to make decisions.
Is there an alarm system in place to call for help?
The home is equipped with a nurse call system in individual bedrooms and communal areas so that residents can always call for assistance from staff.
How frequent are checks made on residents during the night?
The night staff at Gower Gardens carry out hourly checks on residents during the night. However, if residents have got the capacity and chose not to be checked we will respect their wishes.
Is there a carer always available?
Staff are available 24 hours, 7 days per week.
What is the Notice period if someone wanted to terminate their contract?
During the trial period residents can give one week notice. Outside for the trial period residents will need to provide four weeks notice
